SDC55: Bright Colors

We loved seeing all the family portraits that you all created this past two weeks with Stampotique stamps.  Some very cool and original works of art amongst the participants!

Kate's top 3 favorites were:
(please e-mail khowardga@gmail.com for SDC Favorites badge if you would like it)

Great inky background, and I just love Laura's family story behind this creation.

Renee created a fabulously funny card which sums up how every mother feels! I'm sure this is what my kids hear every time I speak to them!

Another funny creation. Love the family figures against the 'Suspects' background.

Our random winner for the $30 gift certificate for Stampotique Stamps is:

SDC54: Family

Our last challenge to create ATC's had some of you really challenged.  Isn't that fun to be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and try something new?  I know I always enjoy that even if I'm stumped at what to create.

We are saying goodbye to one of our design team this week as Joanne has had to take a step back and we wish her the best.  Her clean & simple one layer style will be missed.

Kate is our hostess this week and here is what she says about her challenge this week:

For quite some time now, I have been thinking that some of the Stampotique characters remind me of a family gathering ...( er, no offence to any of my family members who may happen to be reading LOL!) So, with that in mind I set you a challenge to create something, anything, with the theme of family. It could be a greeting card, a journal page, an ATC .... whatever you like. Now, we've all got families but it means something different to each and every one of us, so you can be serious .... such as 'If sisters were flowers I'd pick you', or tongue in cheek... 'You pick your friends, not your family', or anything else that takes your fancy!

Ready to play for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique stamps?
Please remember only one entry per person and our challenges should use Stampotique stamps only.  Please link directly to your creation using in linkz below.

May Guest Designers: Carol Quance

Hiya, my name is Carol.  I seem to have followed the path of many other people. I’ve  always loved making things – clothes for my trolls as a kid, knitting (Kaffe Fasset and Patricia Roberts) x-stitched, hardanger.  A friend then introduced me to rubber stamps about 15 years ago and I thought it  was very “twee” (guess that means very quaint/cute) but I got hooked lol. Things have  improved a lot since then as the stamping scene and my skills have developed.  I dabble with stitching and fabric too these days and love combining both in my projects. I also love fantasy Sci-Fi and music and thanks to my son my latest love is drum and bass music!

Carol has been a long time player of our Stampotique Designer's Challenges and we love her funky style. You can visit Carol over at her blog Alcoholinky.

She shares with us today one of her creations, Play with Abandon.
